(English to come) Bonjour à les membres de notre Réseau

En cette période de fin d’année, je prend un peu de votre temps pour vous remercier de m’avoir soutenu en ces premiers mois comme nouveau directeur mais surtout comme novice à la direction du réseau. Au cours des derniers mois j’ai entrepris une série de consultations pour repenser nos façons de faire afin de mieux répondre aux attentes du FRQS et surtout afin d’être encore plus à l’écoute des besoins de la recherche en santé et maladies respiratoires au Québec. Tout en étant extrêmement stimulant, il y a un risque, nous devons faire les bons choix. Nous arrivons quasiment aux termes de nos consultations, et déjà on sent un vent de renouveau. Demeurez branchés, le RSR travaille pour vous.

Ceux avec qui j’ai plus travaillé, ou même juste échangé, vous faites partie de ces gens avec lesquels il m’est agréable de travailler parce que vous dégager des énergies positives et communicatives. Je ne regrette en rien mon choix de venir au RSR. De notre coin des Amériques qui sera choyé par la neige et le ciel bleu d’ici peu, je vous souhaite un Noël rempli de milles douceurs ainsi qu’une prochaine année 2012 à l’enseigne de la réussite personnelle et collective comme organisation. Je vous souhaite par-dessus-tout une excellente santé pour bien profiter de ce que la vie offre de meilleur, des Moments avec les Vôtres.

The Director of Network ensures:

• the necessary leadership for the continued development of the Network and the scientific quality of its activities;
• transparency and fairness in the allocation and use of grants awarded to the Network.

The Director of the Network sees to:

• the updating as well as compliance to the charter,
• the scientific outreach of the Network both nationally and internationally.

The Director of the Network duly consults the scientific committee before appointing members of the Executive Committee who are not in office.

The Director of the Network is accountable for his/her decisions to the board of directors of the FRQS.

The Director of the Network is elected by the members of the Network. The function of the Director of the Network cannot be combined with any other function within the Network, such as head of a strategic group, infrastructure, platform or common service.

The appointment of the Director of the Network is made by the FRQS.

The mandate of the Director of the Network is for a 4-year term, renewable.

The electoral process is overseen by the Administrative Director of Network under the supervision of the Executive Committee.

The functions of the Deputy Director are:

• to contribute to the outreach and the promotion of the Network,
• to replace the Director in case of prolonged absence of more than 6 months, for the duration of this absence,
• to replace and complete the mandate of the Director in case of resignation.

The Deputy Director is consulted by the Director on major issues of the Network.

If necessary, the Director entrusts certain case files to the Deputy Director.

The appointment of the Deputy Director of the Network is made by the Director after consultation with the Scientific Committee. The function of the Deputy Director cannot be combined with any other function within the Network such as head of a strategic group, infrastructure, platform or common service. The appointment of the Deputy Director of the Network by the Director is endorsed by the General Assembly.

The Administrative Director ensures the daily admi

• the follow-up of Network activities;
• preparation of the budget;
• administrative management of the budget;
• organization of meetings and special events, participation;
• administrative assistance to various heads of the Network;
• participation in the pursuit of funds and collaborations;
• contribution to the revision of the Network's Web page;
• ensures a constant link with the FRSQ;
• all other tasks deemed essential for the operational effectiveness of the Network by the Executive Committee.

The recruitment of the Administrative Director is made by the Executive Committee. The function of Administrative Director requires a high level of scientific training as well as relevant experience in the management of health research programs.
